Reardon, Carol![]()
Carol ReardonProfessor of Military History, Pennsylvania State University Ms. Reardon is professor of military history and scholar-in-residence of the Richards Civil War Era Center at the Pennsylvania State University. Her teaching and research center on various aspects of American military and naval history -- especially the Civil War and Vietnam -- and the way that memory shapes understanding of historical events. She has taught at West Point and other military schools, and has led many "staff rides" to Civil War battlefields, where military personnel discuss in historical context such essential elements of the art of war as leadership, logistics, and decision-making. She is president of the Society for Military History and author, most recently, of Launch the Intruders: A Naval Attack Squadron in the Vietnam War, 1972 (2005).
