For reporters & editors

Covering the Economy: The American Bankruptcy Institute provides several tools for covering issues with the recent economic downturn. The site features a newsroom, links, publications and is a good source for experts. Use tools in the Toolbox's Business Resources section to track the daily changes in the markets. You'll also find resources for stories on the housing market , gas prices, food casts and other economic issues. Related Resources: Personal Finance and Labor sections.

Add Covering the Economy: WalkScore.com ranks more than 2,500 neighborhoods in the largest U.S. cities on their "walkability." Type in an address, and the site uses a map to calculate the walkability of an address by locating nearby stores, restaurants, schools, parks, etc. The site recently scored and ranked U.S. cities. It's a helpful tool with the recent increase in gas prices.

Diversity: The Radio Television News Directors Association has released survey results on newsroom diversity. Related Resources: Diversity, News Industry and Broadcast Journalism.

Entertainment: There are several tools for tracking summer box office news. One of them is BoxOfficeMojo.com. Run by movie analyst Brandon Gray, the site provides box office statistics, analysis, reviews and interviews. This includes quick links to daily, weekly, weekend and annual box office takes, as well as news showtimes, trailers, release schedule and an RSS feed.
