An investigative reporter in Canada launches his own ad-free, subscription site
Tim Bousquet is a decorated investigative reporter, most recently known for effectively bringing down then Halifax mayor Peter Kelly with an 11-month investigation. Bousquet just launched The Halifax Examiner, which he describes as an “independent, adversarial news site.” Bousquet is aligning himself with a trend of Canadian media outlets greatly outpacing other countries in the move toward paywalls.
