Diving Deep into Mobile: Advanced Conversations for Modern Newsrooms will gather executives, mobile product managers, editors and other innovators from leading legacy and startup news organizations. We’re bringing people together with a range of titles, all of whom have hands-on responsibility for creating and managing mobile strategies that can succeed in today’s media ecosystem.

This is our second summit on mobile news since 2014. We held our first at Google’s DC office about 20 months ago, producing this report on unlocking mobile revenue and audience. To push beyond the basic mobile-related topics that journalism conferences commonly rehash, we’re planning an agenda of small, in-depth discussions on narrow, nuanced issues that mobile-focused people want to explore with each other.

Unlike a typical conference, the intimate, interactive summit allows each attendee to be an active participant, sharing their expertise and experiences while gaining actionable insights from others. Discussion topics for the day will be surfaced in advance by invitees, and we’ll also take inspiration from the creative startup environment of 1776, a DC-based global incubator and seed fund where we’ll hold the summit.

After the event, the best ideas will be distilled into a resource for matters related to mobile news strategies and products.
