Those partnerships help us test ideas, build reusable programs and resources, expand our reach and explore new ways to support the field. Together we often unearth a deeper understanding of how local journalism strengthens civic and community life — and what it takes to expand and sustain that impact.

API’s work is funded through a mix of earned revenue, income from our reserves and philanthropic support. That combination gives us flexibility while allowing partners and supporters to help expand the ambition and reach of our work.
